Why do you win the respect of others(狐假虎威)

Why do you win the respect of others(狐假虎威)

During the Warring States Period in China, one day the king of the Chu Kingdom asked all the ministers a question.

I heard that many people are in awe of General (Zhao Xixu). Is this true?

Upon hearing this question, all the ministers did not speak.

At this time, a minister named (Jiang Yi) answered.

He told a story to the king.

A huge tiger caught a fox, and the tiger was about to eat him.

The fox said to the tiger at this time. You cannot eat me. Because I am a messenger sent by the gods.

The tiger laughed. He didn't change his mind, he was still going to eat the fox.

At this critical moment, the fox said to the tiger again.

I know you don't believe me, but you can confirm for yourself whether what I said is true.

That's it, you let me go first, then follow me behind, we go around in the forest.

You quietly observe how all animals see me. You will know if what I said is true or false.

The tiger nodded and agreed.

The fox walked ahead and the tiger followed behind. When these two animals walked into the forest, the other animals were scared and quickly avoided because they saw the tiger.

But the tiger didn't know that these animals were afraid of itself, and thought the fox was really the messenger of the gods.

The tiger did not eat the fox in the end.

(Jiang Yi) told the king his conclusion.

(Zhao Xixu) This general is like a little fox, and you are the tiger behind.

The king laughed after hearing it.

This idiom is used to describe a person who has insufficient talents, but he relies on the ability of others to intimidate others.

Dear friend, what inspiration or thoughts did you have after hearing this story.

What do you think is the kings motivation for asking this question? Do we win the respect of others because of our own character and ability, or because of the company behind us or other factors?

I hope this story will give you some new gains.

(Why do you win the respect of others)
