秦王國的這個提議，其目的是要了解我們的真正實力，若是你不參加這場會談，秦王國便會知道我們害怕戰爭。
然後，他們的軍隊就會大舉進攻。
趙王國的國王因為害怕，所以他帶著(藺相如)一起去參加這場會議。
這兩位國王在約定的時間碰面。整個會談是以一場餐會的形式舉辦。
雙方正式進行談話。
晚宴進行到一半的時候。
秦王國的國王突然拿出一支樂器，這種中國獨特的樂器名字叫做(瑟)。
他把(瑟)遞給趙王國的國王。
他說，我聽說你很會演奏這種樂器。我很想聽，你可以演奏一首曲子嗎。
趙王國的國王難以拒絕，只好接過這樂器並且吹奏了一曲。
秦王國的國王很開心，他就跟秦王國的會議紀錄員說。

這個時候(藺相如)手中拿個碗又往前走一步。
他說，如果你不肯表演，那就表示你藐視我們趙王國。
