Quickly fill up the gap in the sheepfold(亡羊補牢)

Quickly fill up the gap in the sheepfold(亡羊補牢)

During the Warring States Period in China, a very senior minister of the Chu Kingdom, his name was (Zhuang Xin).

One day, he said to the king.

My king. The ministers you trust now, everyone is greedy for pleasure.

You must manage our kingdom carefully, or our kingdom may have a major crisis.

The king answered him angrily.

You are too old, do you have a problem with your brain? Why do you curse our kingdom?

(Zhuang Xin) answered.

I saw the current situation and deduced the most likely result.

(Zhuang Xin) He was very discouraged when he saw that the king did not listen to his advice.

He asked the king to transfer him to the Zhao Kingdom as an ambassador, and the king agreed to his request.

After five months, the Kingdom of Qin sent troops to attack the Kingdom of Chu.

The Kingdom of Chu was defeated, and even the capital was occupied by the Kingdom of Qin.

At this time, the king thought of what (Zhuang Xin) had said to him before, so he retrieved (Zhuang Xin).

When the king saw (Zhuang Xin), he told him.

I regret not listening to you. The situation in our kingdom is so critical now, what else can I do.

(Zhuang Xin) Said to the king.

When we raise sheep, if we find a gap in the sheepfold, and some sheep have already escaped from this gap.

We should take action at this time to fill this gap so that we can prevent this from happening again.

This time though we were defeated.

But I believe that as long as you correct your past mistakes, you will manage our kingdom from now on.

We can certainly restore our former glory.

The king accepted (Zhuang Xin)'s suggestion this time.

He changed himself and concentrated on governing the country.

The Kingdom of Chu also recovered a few years later and became as strong as before.

This idiom is used to motivate a person to correct mistakes and start over from now on.

Dear friend, what inspiration or thoughts did you have after hearing this story.

Are you still bound by some past mistakes? Are you willing to encourage yourself and reformulate your plan to rise again in your limited life?

I hope this story will give you some new gains.

(Quickly fill up the gap in the sheepfold)
