The sharpest spear and the strongest shield(自相矛盾)

The sharpest spear and the strongest shield(自相矛盾)

During the Warring States Period in China, a famous thinker (Han Fei), he wrote a story.

There was a merchant in the Chu Kingdom who sold his goods in the market.

What he is selling today is a spear and a shield.

The businessman first picked up the shield and showed it to the onlookers, then he said.

My shield is very hard, and I promise that no weapon can pierce it.

After the businessman put down the shield, he took up the spear.

He said. This spear is very sharp, and I guarantee that nothing can withstand it.

At this time, one of the people asked the businessman.

I believe that your shield is so hard, and I also believe that your spear is so sharp.

But if you pierce this shield with this spear, what will happen.

The businessman could not answer.

(Han Fei) At the end of the story, publish his conclusion.

A shield that cannot be pierced and a spear that can pierce everything,

These two cannot coexist.

This idiom. It is used to describe a person who has a paradox between his previous statement or behavior and his subsequent statement or behavior.

Dear friend, what inspiration or thoughts did you have after hearing this story.

Will you self-test whether your words and actions are consistent? How can you remind yourself not to get into such a predicament?

I hope this story will give you some new gains.

(The sharpest spear and the strongest shield)
