There is a large plum grove in front(望梅止渴)

(Liu Yiqing) is one of the most famous editors in Chinese history. There is a story in the book he edited.

At the end of the Eastern Han Dynasty in China, China was in turmoil at that time.

There is a famous general whose name is (Cao Cao).

He led the government troops of the Han Dynasty on an expedition.

The troops marched for a long distance, but unexpectedly there was no place to replenish water along the road.

All the soldiers became thirsty and anxious.

(Cao Cao) knew he had to solve this problem quickly.

He ordered several officers to go on horseback to find a place to replenish water.

At the same time, he instructed one of these officers to return immediately in half an hour.

After half an hour, the officer came back.

He reported his findings loudly to (Cao Cao).

He said. Not far in front, there is a large plum forest, and all the plum trees are covered with plums.

Everyone can eat plums to quench their thirst.

When the soldiers heard the news, everyone secreted saliva from their mouths when they thought of the sour plums.

Everyone lifted their spirits, and the restless mood calmed down.

A few more hours passed. Another officer came back and said that he had found a place to add water.

This crisis in the army was lifted.

This idiom is used to describe a person's wish cannot be realized, he has to use fantasy to comfort himself or others.

But there is another positive meaning, which is to remind a person that when encountering difficulties, he should use his desire for success to motivate himself to persevere.

Dear friend, what inspiration or thoughts did you have after hearing this story.

What do you think are the most important traits of a leader? How do you use your imagination to encourage yourself?

I hope this story will give you some new gains.

(There is a large plum grove in front)
