He will not change his principles due to changes in the outside world(不欺暗室)

(Liu Xiang) is an outstanding writer. He is also one of the most famous historians in Chinese history.

A story is recorded in the history book he edited.

During the Spring and Autumn Period of China, the king and queen of the Wei Kingdom sat in the palace one night.

It was late at night and it was quiet all around. The sound of a carriage came from a distance.

The sound of the carriage stopped at the gate of the palace, and it sounded again after a while.

The king said to the queen. Who would go out in a carriage so late?

The queen answered. I guess it's the minister (Zang Boyu).

The king asked the queen. Why do you guess it is him. .

The queen answered. According to etiquette, when the carriage passed the gate of the palace, the people in the carriage had to get off and walk over.

Among all the ministers, I think (Zang Boyu) has the highest requirements for himself.

He will stick to his principles even when no one sees it.

The king sent a guard to confirm. The result is just as the queen guessed.

But the king wanted to say a joke with the queen at this time.

He said to the queen, you guessed wrong, it's another person

The queen said to the king after hearing this. Congratulations.

The king said suspiciously. You guessed wrong, why congratulate me.

The queen answered. I originally thought that in our kingdom, only (Zang Boyu) had this kind of character, but I didn't expect that there were others besides him.

The more such people, the more helpful to our kingdom. So I want to congratulate you.

This idiom is used to describe a person who remains godly to things even when he is alone.

Dear friend, what inspiration or thoughts did you have after hearing this story.

Do you maintain the same respect and politeness in an environment where you are surrounded by strangers? What kind of person do you seek to be

I hope this story will give you some new gains.

(He will not change his principles due to changes in the outside world)
