During the Spring and Autumn Period in
China, there were two very small kingdoms. One is the Kingdom of (Shougu), and
the other is the Kingdom of (Zhu). These two small kingdoms often clash.
The Lu Kingdom helped the (Sugu) Kingdom,
so the king of the (Zhu) Kingdom was very angry.
The (Zhu) Kingdom declared war on the Lu
Kingdom.
The king of Lu Kingdom laughed when he
heard the news. He said.
(Zhu) The kingdom declares war with us.
This is ridiculous.
A minister of the Lu Kingdom said to the
king.
We should seriously think about how to
fight.
Said the king.
Their army is far less than ours, why
should we worry about it.
The minister replied.
We should not think like this.
How do you know what God thinks, we should
remain in awe.
Said the king.
We will definitely win this war.
The minister replied.
My king, a small poisonous insect can cause
harm to a strong man. We really should be fully prepared.
The king did not listen to his opinion.
As a result, the Kingdom of Lu lost this
war.

我們應該要嚴肅地思考如何迎戰。
國王說。
他們的軍隊人數遠遠比不上我們，我們為何要擔心呢。
大臣回答。
我們不應該這樣想。
你怎麼知道上天的想法呢，我們應該保持敬畏。
國王說。
我們絕對會贏得這場戰爭。
大臣回答。
我的國王阿，一隻小的毒蟲就會對一個強壯的人造成危害啊。我們真的應該要做好萬全的準備。
國王沒有聽他的意見。
結果魯王國輸了這一場戰爭。
這句成語被用來提醒我們，就算對手很弱小，我們也要謹慎地面對。
