You must obey my orders.

You must obey my orders.

During the Warring States Period in China, the prime minister of the Qin Kingdom (Lu Buwei) edited a set of books.

There is a story in the book.

During the Warring States Period in China, the Song Kingdom had a minister named (Gao Yangying).

He wanted to build a new house, so he specially ordered a batch of the best wood and hired the best carpenter.

The carpenter said to him after seeing this batch of wood.

These pieces of wood are great, but we can’t start work yet.

He asked confusedly.

Why

The carpenter replied.

Because the wood has just been cut down, there is too much moisture in the wood.

We must wait until the wood is completely dry before we can use it.

he asks.

Why wait until the wood is dry before we can use it.

The carpenter replied.

I will use these wood to construct the skeleton of this house.

Then I will apply wet soil on this skeleton.

The wet soil is too heavy. These woods will bend as a result.

If you build this house now, it will collapse in less than a year.

He listened to the carpenter's answer. He said to the carpenter.

I think your speculation is wrong.

According to my opinion, we can start building this house now.

After our house is built, after a month, the wood will get drier and harder.

The mud is just the opposite. The mud you are applying now is very wet and heavier, but after a month, the mud will become lighter after it dries.

The wood is getting harder and harder, and the mud covering it is getting lighter and lighter, so the house is unlikely to collapse.

He insisted on telling the carpenter.

You must listen to my orders. I am an important minister of our kingdom. My opinion is absolutely correct.

The carpenter did not refute him any more.

The next day, the carpenter started to build a house.

One month later, this tall and gorgeous house was built. (Gao Yangying) happily moved in with his family.

After another six months, the house collapsed.

The meaning of this idiom is to remind us that we need to respect professionalism and objectivity. Our standing higher than others does not mean that we are better than others.

Dear friend, what inspiration or thoughts did you have after hearing this story.

Do you respect professionalism? Which one of the two mentalities of persisting in doing the right thing and persisting in being the right person is better?

I hope this story will give you some new gains.

(You must obey my orders.)
