a famous thinker (Han Fei), he wrote a story.
The king of the Chu Kingdom announced in a
meeting.
We are going to attack the Kingdom of Yue.
A minister asked.
May I ask why we are going to attack the
Kingdom of Yue.
The king answered.
Because the political situation in the Yue
Kingdom is very chaotic, and their army's combat effectiveness is very poor.
Said the minister.
The wisdom of each of us has limitations.
Let me give you an example.
Our eyes can see everything around us. But
our eyes cannot see our eyelashes.
The minister continued.
The fact that our kingdom’s army was only
defeated by the Qin Kingdom and the Jin Kingdom a few months ago shows that our
army’s combat effectiveness is very poor.
There is currently a general in our kingdom
who is rebelling, and we have not resolved this crisis. This fact shows that
our political situation is chaotic.
