His time as king was one of the strongest periods in Chinese history.

Later generations called him (Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty).

There is a story about him recorded in history books.

Once, he got a very mysterious bottle of rice wine.

According to legend, people who drink this bottle of rice wine can live forever.

He is very happy, because if he lives forever, he can always enjoy the present glory and wealth.

At that time there was a minister whose name was (Dongfang Shuo).

(Dongfang Shuo) Hearing the news, he came to him and told him.

I can tell whether this bottle of rice wine has magical powers.

Before you drink it, you'd better let me appraise it.

He gave the bottle of rice wine to (Dongfang Shuo).

When (Dongfang Shuo) got the bottle of rice wine, he took it in front of his eyes and looked carefully.

Suddenly, he pulled up the cork, then he raised his head and drank all the bottle of rice wine.

Everyone at the scene was stunned.

He was very angry, and he ordered to kill (Dongfang Shuo) immediately.

When (Dongfang Shuo) heard his order, (Dongfang Shuo) laughed instead of fear.

He found it strange and asked.

Why are you laughing.

(Dongfang Shuo) answered.

Please think about it,

If this bottle of rice wine really has magical power, the person who drinks this bottle of rice wine will be able to live forever.

If this is right, you can't kill me in any way today.

If this bottle of rice wine has no magical power, then I will be killed by you.

But for you, you haven't lost the chance to live forever.

He was silent when he heard the answer.

After he thought about it carefully, he understood that (Dongfang Shuo) used this method to tell himself that there is no way to immortality in this world.

What he should do is not to pursue immortality, but to live every day well.

He forgave (Dongfang Shuo).

Dear friend, what inspiration or thoughts did you have after hearing this story.

How do you face death? If you are going to die tomorrow, how will you live today?

I hope this story will give you some new gains.
