(Su Shi) is the most outstanding writer and
poet in Chinese history.
He has a good friend whose name is (Wang
Jinqing).
Wang Jinqing built a large new house and
put many of his precious collections of paintings and calligraphy in this
house.
After Su Shi visited this beautiful big
house and many precious collections inside, he wrote an article.

But we should maintain a kind of vigilance
not to let these things become our masters.
Take myself as an example.
When I was young, I liked collecting
calligraphy and painting works. I think the value of these works of art cannot
be measured by money.
I collected more and more calligraphy and
painting works, but one day I suddenly found that I was becoming less and less
happy.
I think carefully about why I feel this
way.
I have summarized two reasons.
I am afraid that one day I will lose these
precious collections.
At the same time, I feel that I have too
little and I eagerly want more.
When I saw the reason why I was unhappy, I
further thought about it.
Can I take these things with me after I
die? Will these things be more important than my life?
When I thought about it clearly, I changed
my eyes on these collections.
I still like these calligraphy and painting
works.
But I think these things are fleeting like
clouds in the sky and smoke on a fire.
I happily appreciate when I have these
things, and I don’t feel regret when I lose them.

(蘇軾)是中國歷史上最傑出的文學家與詩人。
他有一個好朋友，這個好朋友的名字叫做(王晉卿)。
王晉卿蓋了一間很大的新房屋，並且把自已的許多珍貴的書畫蒐藏都放到這個房屋內。
蘇軾參觀完這間漂亮的大房子與裡面許多珍貴的蒐藏後，他寫下了一篇文章。
這篇文章大概內容如下。
我們每個人都會有自已喜歡的東西。
但是我們應該保持一種警戒，不要讓這些東西變成我們的主人。
以我自己為例子。
我年輕的時候很喜歡蒐集書法與繪畫作品，我認為這些藝術品的價值無法用金錢來衡量。
我蒐藏的書法與繪畫作品愈來愈多，但有一天我突然發現我愈來愈不快樂。
我仔細思考我為何會有這種感受。
我歸納出兩個原因。
我害怕有一天我會失去這些珍貴的蒐藏。
在此同時我覺得我擁有的太少了我熱切地想要獲得更多。
當我看見我為何不快樂的原因之後，我進一步深入思考。
難道我死了之後可以帶走這些東西嗎?難道這些東西會比我的生命更重要嗎?
當我想清楚後，我改變了看待這些蒐藏品的眼光。
我還是喜歡這些書法與繪畫作品。
但是我認為這些東西就像是天上的雲還有火堆上的煙一樣，是稍縱即逝的。
我在擁有這些東西的時候愉快地欣賞，我在失去這些東西的時候不會感覺悔恨。
