Be an honest and upright person(俯仰無愧)

Be an honest and upright person(俯仰無愧)

There is an important scholar in Confucianism whose name is (Meng Ke).

There is a story in his book.

Someone asked him.

What do you think is the difference between a virtuous person and a vulgar person? What are they happy for?

He replied.

I think a ethical person will feel truly happy because of three things.

The first thing is that his parents and brothers and sisters are in good health and live in peace.

The second thing is that he maintains honesty and integrity to himself, and he maintains honesty and integrity when interacting with other people.

The third thing is that he has the opportunity to share his knowledge and experience with someone who is willing to learn with a humility.

He finally said.

The happiness that a vulgar person thinks may be having supreme power and having a lot of wealth. But I think that a person who is truly ethical will not think that these two items will bring him real happiness.

This idiom means an honest and upright person who will not be ashamed of himself and others.

Dear friend, what inspiration or thoughts did you have after hearing this story.

For you, what can bring you real happiness? How do you think real happiness can make you feel?

I hope this story will give you some new gains.

(Be an honest and upright person
