The most important thing that must be done immediately.(當務之急)

There is an important scholar in Confucianism whose name is (Meng Ke).

There is a story in his book.

Someone asked him.

Do you think that if a person wants to make himself better, how should he choose?

He replied.

A wise person understands that they can participate in anything, but they will not do everything.

They will distinguish what is the most important thing and finish it first.

A benevolent person knows that he can associate with anyone, but they will not associate with everyone.

They will distinguish virtuous people and associate with such people first.

There were two famous kings in ancient China, one named (Yao) and the other named (Shun).

According to history books, they followed this principle when making choices.

In addition, I will give two more common examples.

Around us, we often see that some people are negligent in the funeral of their parents. But these people attach great importance to what clothes should be worn during the funeral to match their identity.

We often see some people eating, their mouths are covered with sauce and their desks are messy. But these people attach great importance to how to eat meat to be in line with table manners.

This idiom means the most important thing that must be done immediately.

Dear friend, what inspiration or thoughts did you have after hearing this story.

Do you feel that your life is rushed but has no good results? Should you re-clarify what is really important to you?

I hope this story will give you some new gains.

(The most important thing that must be done immediately.)
