A ball rolling down a slope(下阪走丸)

 A ball rolling down a slope(下阪走丸)

In the Tang Dynasty of China, there was a well-known upright prime minister, his name was (Zhang Jiuling).

There are many stories about him in history books.

Two of the stories are as follows.

The first story is that one day a grand celebration was held in the palace, because this day is the kings birthday.

The king was very happy at the birthday party because he received many gifts from the ministers.

These gifts are precious treasures and these gifts are beautifully packaged.

But the gift he prepared was just an ordinary small wooden box.

After the king opened the small wooden box, he found five thin books inside.

The king asked.

Why did you give me this gift.

He replied.

I collected stories that influenced the rise and fall of various dynasties in Chinese history.

I think you are a wise king, these books will be very helpful to you.

The king felt very moved.

The second story is that he had several academic seminars with his friends.

He shared his research experience on ancient classic books.

His friends told him after listening to his sharing.

Your thoughts are too smooth. What we felt just now was like standing in a turbulent river, the water constantly hitting us.

Your thinking is too flexible. What we felt just now was like standing on a slope. We saw a ball rolling down the slope. We wanted to chase the ball but couldn't.

The meaning of this idiom is to describe a person who speaks fluently and flexibly.

Dear friend, what inspiration or thoughts did you have after hearing this story.

What is the most precious gift you have ever received? Do you share your reading experience with others?

I hope this story will give you some new gains.

(A ball rolling down a slope)
