This hill is bare(童山濯濯)
There is an important scholar in Confucianism whose name is (Meng Ke).
There is a story in his book.
Once, he went to climb a mountain with a few students. This mountain was called (Niushan).
As he climbed the mountain, he saw that almost all the trees on the mountain had been cut down.
He sighed, then he said to all the students.
When I came to climb this mountain a few years ago, the trees on this mountain were still very lush.
Although old trees continue to grow every year, and young trees continue to grow every day, the speed of human felling is too fast, and there are many people bringing cattle and sheep here to graze.
Only a few years later, the mountain has now become such a bare look.
I think if I didn't tell you, you probably didn't know that this mountain was once covered with trees.
Remember, your love and conscience are as precious as these trees, and you must cherish and take care of them in order to maintain their prosperity.
As long as we take care of everything, these things will flourish.
As long as we don’t take care of everything, these things will quickly die out unknowingly.
This idiom was originally used to describe the state of a mountain without vegetation. But now they are all used to describe a person who is bald.
Dear friend, what inspiration or thoughts did you have after hearing this story.
Which of the tangible trees and the intangible soul do you think is more important? Do you take good care of your own soul?
I hope this story will give you some new gains.
(This hill is bare)
