He doesn't think it is a shame to speak big words.(大言不慚)

He doesn't think it is a shame to speak big words.(大言不慚)

The famous book (The Analects of Confucius) records a story about Confucius.

Confucius said to his students.

You have to guard against those who can only speak big words.

When a person speaks big words without feeling ashamed, it is impossible to ask him to actually do what they say.

During the Southern Song Dynasty in China. There is a famous Confucian scholar whose name is (Zhu Xi).

In response to this passage, he put forward his views.

He said.

I think what Confucius said about people who don't think that talking big is a shameful behavior.

They don't think they should be responsible for what they say, so they don't think about whether they can do it when they say big things.

So it is very difficult for these people to fulfill their promises.

This idiom is used to describe a person's behavior that doesn't think big talk is a shame.

Dear friend, what inspiration or thoughts did you have after hearing this story.

Do you easily make a promise to others? Do you value what you promise others?

I hope this story will give you some new gains.

(He doesn't think it is a shame to speak big words.)
