Li Er (李耳)(571 BC-about 471 BC)

 

His last name is (Li), his parents gave him the name (Er), and his friends call him (Dan) when he grows up. He was born in Henan Province, China.

 

The meaning of plum tree. It is also one of the Chinese surnames.

The meaning of ears.

The ears are very big and the earlobes are very long.

 

He is one of the most famous thinkers and philosophers in China.

 

He wrote a book called Tao Te Ching.

 

This book has only more than 5,000 words, but it has influenced China for thousands of years.

他說。

(尹喜)說。

你可以把你學習到的東西寫下來給我們嗎。

你的哲學觀與你的世界觀,你的觀察與你的思想。

當我們看見這本書的內容時,我們就會想起你充滿智慧的話語與觀點。

 

這會對我們這些年輕人很有幫助。

 

(李耳)點頭說好。

 

他寫完這本書後,他對(尹喜)說。

當我讀愈多的書,我就愈覺得自已知道的太少。

人類所知的何其有限,我是多麼的微不足道。

他隱居之後,再也沒有人看到過他。

大家不知道他又活了多久。他何時死去的也沒有人知道。
