The gentleman on the beam

The gentleman on the beam

In the Eastern Han Dynasty of China, there was a famous minister. His name is (Chen Shi),

There is a story about him in history books.

One night, he was reading in the study alone.

He felt very tired, and he stretched.

He suddenly saw a person hiding on the roof beam.

He became sober in an instant.

He thought to himself.

This man must be a thief. How can I deal with this situation?

After about a minute, he thought of a countermeasure.

He opened the door of the study, and he ordered the servants to call all the family members to the study.

About ten minutes later, he stood in front of all his family members.

He said to everyone.

You must feel very confused, why I called you all to come here.

The reason for this is because I want to share a life truth that I think is very important.

Each of us must remind ourselves at any time that we can't do even small bad things.

Many people have not noticed this important principle.

These people did not self-examine and reflect after they did some small bad things.

They develop the habit of doing bad things.

They ended up committing very bad things.

You must remember this important principle.

If you forget, then one day, you will face the same dilemma as the gentleman on the roof beam.

After he said this, he looked up, and all his family members also looked up on the roof beams.

The man saw the people in the whole room looking at him, he knew he had no way to escape.

He climbed down and knelt in front of (Chen Sh). He said tremblingly.

Will you forgive me, I will definitely reform.

At this time, (Chen Shi) finally saw this person clearly.

This man looks very honest, he is very thin, his clothes and shoes are very torn.

He said to this man.

I think you are actually a good person, you are too poor and that's why you want to steal.

I forgive you, and I will also give you some belongings to help you through this difficult situation.

You must remind yourself later that you must never do illegal things anymore.

This idiom is used to describe the meaning of a thief.

Dear friend, what inspiration or thoughts did you have after hearing this story.

If you were him, how would you treat this thief? If you were that thief, how would this matter affect your life?

I hope this story will give you some new gains.

(The gentleman on the beam)
