Don't you forget your past hardships(毋忘在莒)

 

During the Spring and Autumn Period in China, there was a famous minister in the Kingdom of Qi whose name was (Bao Shuya).

 

 

One day, the king of Qi Kingdom ate and drank with him and important ministers in the other two kingdoms.

 

The four drank too much, the king told him happily.

When the king heard these words, he got up and left his seat.

 

The king stood in front of him respectfully and saluted him.

Said the king.

I appreciate your blessings to us.

The three of us must always remember what you just said so that our kingdom can continue to prosper.

他又拿起一杯酒對著另一個名字叫做(寧戚)的大臣說。

我向你敬酒。

我祝福你可以永遠記得你幾年前剛離開故鄉來到齊王國時的那些日子。

我祝福你可以永遠記得你當時對未來充滿憂又懷抱希望的心情。

他喝完這一杯酒。

 

國王聽到這幾句話後就站起來離開自已的座位。

 

國王很恭敬的站在他的前面對他行禮。

國王說。

我很感謝你給我們的祝福。

我們三個人必須時刻記得你剛剛說的這些話,我們的王國才能持續興盛繁榮。
