Teaching students according to their aptitude(因材施教)

Teaching students according to their aptitude(因材施教)

The Zhou Dynasty was the first feudal hereditary dynasty in Chinese history. It is also the longest lasting dynasty in Chinese history.

The nobles of the Zhou Dynasty had to learn a lot of knowledge.

According to the records of history books, there are the following six skills that the nobles at that time had to learn.

Etiquette, music, archery, horse-drawn carriage, calligraphy, mathematics.

The famous Confucius lived in this era.

He was proficient in these knowledge and skills, and he took the lead in teaching these knowledge and skills that only nobles could learn to many commoners who were willing and eager to learn at that time, so he was regarded as a model by many teachers of future generations.

The famous book (The Analects of Confucius) records a story about Confucius.

Confucius once said to his students.

Each of my students has different strengths.

for example.

Some people can be morally role models for all.

Some people have good eloquence, some people are suitable for politics, and some people are very talented in literature.

The Song Dynasty in China had a pair of famous brothers who were the most famous thinkers of that time.

The elder brother's name is (Cheng Hao), and the younger brother's name is (Cheng Yi).

Their students recorded some of their everyday conversations and compiled them into a book.

In this book, they praised Confucius' teaching methods.

He is a teacher who will teach and inspire students according to their talents

This idiom comes from this sentence.

This idiom means to teach students according to their aptitude. This idiom is often used to compliment a teacher.

Dear friends, what inspiration or thoughts do you have after listening to this story?

Do you agree with the current education system? How do you think it can be improved to make the current education system better?

I hope this story will give you something new to gain.

因材施教(Teaching students according to their aptitude)
