My thoughts and feelings change as circumstances change(情隨事遷)

This thing makes me feel lament(感慨系之)

The most famous calligraphy work in running script in Chinese history is a preface written by a famous calligrapher (Wang Xizhi) of the Jin Dynasty.

In the spring of AD 353, at the age of 50, he and 40 other celebrities of the time gathered in a pavilion in what is now Kuaiji Mountain in Zhejiang Province. The name of this pavilion is (Lanting).

Why do they gather here? This is because there was a custom in ancient China.

On this day of the year, everyone goes to the river and everyone washes their bodies in water soaked in herbs.

People at that time believed that by doing so, they could eliminate misfortunes and gain blessings.

After they finished the ceremony, everyone sat by the river, and everyone began to drink and eat.

A total of 41 people participated in this open-air luncheon.

In total they composed 37 poems that afternoon.

A good friend who attended this event suggested.

We should put these poems today into a collection of poems.

Everyone agrees with this idea..

After this collection of poems is completed, a preface is required

All those who participated in this event asked (Wang Xizhi) to write a preface to this collection of poems.

He happily accepted everyone's request.

This activity started in the morning, and by the time (Wang Xizhi) wrote this preface, it is conservatively estimated that it has lasted at least ten hours.

Everyone was a little drunk, and Wang Xizhi was no exception.

People tend to be more sentimental when they are drunk.

The sixth paragraph of this preface reads as follows.

Each of us has a different personality, some quiet and some active.

Each of us has different hobbies and interests, and each of us places a different order of importance in our lives.

If the things we encounter in the present moment are going well, we feel satisfied and happy.

When we feel that life is good, we even forget that we are getting older day by day and that we will die one day.

There are also times when we get what we seek, and our relationship with others changes over time and space.

These are times when we lament our lives.

The first idiom means that a person's thoughts and feelings change as the environment changes.

The second idiom means that this thing makes me lament.

Dear friends, what inspiration or thoughts do you have after listening to this story?

Do you like your own personality? Do you think that getting what you want means you will be happy?

I hope this story will give you something new to gain.

(My thoughts and feelings change as circumstances change)

(This thing makes me feel lament)
