The people in this boat are all your enemies(舟中敵國)

During the Warring States Period of China, there was a famous general whose name was (Wu Qi).

There is a story about him in the history books.

The name of the founding king of the Wei Kingdom was (Weiss).

(Weiss) once employed him as a general of the Wei Kingdom.

There was a conversation between them.

(Weiss) asked.

Are there any situations in which it is not suitable to send troops to fight? What kind of mentality does a leader need to maintain when fighting a war?

He answered.

For the first question, my answer is as follows.

I don't think a kingdom should go to war if one of these four things happens.

1- The people of the kingdom did not agree with the decision to send troops to fight.

2- The generals in the army are not united.

3 - The training of soldiers in the army is not yet complete.

4- The cooperation of the various units in the army is not smooth enough.

He went on to answer.

For the second question, my answer is as follows.

If the above four points are fulfilled, the king of a kingdom can send troops to fight.

But the king should remain humble and pray to God.

The king should remember that the abilities of individuals are limited, and there are too many factors that we know and cannot know that can affect the success or failure of a war.

The king should usually treat the people in the kingdom as his own sons and daughters, and care about and protect the safety of all people's lives and property.

Because only by doing so, the people will identify with the king, and people will do their best to defend the kingdom.

(Weiss) nodded in agreement.

After (Weiss) died, his son succeeded him on the throne.

The name of the king's son is (Wei Chi)

(Wei Ji) is younger than him.

Once, after touring the entire kingdom, (Wei Jia) said to him.

There are many mountains and rivers in our kingdom that can serve as our natural barriers.

I think we can stop worrying about enemy attacks.

He said to (Wei Jian).

Mountains and rivers are not the best and most important barriers in our kingdom.

Our kingdom is like a small boat on which all the people sit with us.

You should govern all the people with justice and love and high morals.

If you don't, you'll see everyone in this ship become your enemy.

You must remember that the people in the kingdom support you, and the belief that everyone is willing to resist the aggression of other kingdoms together is the best barrier in our kingdom,

The direct translation of this idiom means that all the passengers on this ship are your enemies

This idiom is used to describe a person who is hated by everyone and becomes the enemy of everyone around him.

Dear friends, what inspiration or thoughts do you have after listening to this story?

How are you getting along with your colleagues or friends around you? Do you identify with your country and leaders?

I hope this story will give you something new to gain.

(The people in this boat are all your enemies)
