Accessible in all directions (四通五達)
(Li Yiji) is an outstanding military staff
officer. The name of the founding king of the Han Dynasty was (Liu Bang).
He is one of the important heroes who
assisted (Liu Bang) in establishing the Han Dynasty.
History books record a story about them.
When the two of them met for the first
time, Liu Bang was soaking his feet.
Liu Bang didn't get up to greet Li Yiji.
Li Yiji said to Liu Bang.
Your attitude is too arrogant, and you will
not be able to attract those capable people to work for you.
Liu Bang humbly accepted Li Yiji's
criticism.
Liu Bang said to Li Yiji.
My behavior was indeed wrong, thank you for
pointing out my mistakes to my face.
Liu Bang respectfully asked Li Yiji to sit
down.
Liu Bang asked Li Yiji for his views on the
current situation in China.
After Li Yiji finished his opinion, Liu
Bang said to him.
You are really a wise person. After
listening to your exposition, I have learned a lot.
Let me go deeper and ask a question.
What do you think is wrong with the team I
lead?
What action strategy should we take next?
Li Yiji replied.
According to my observation, most of the
revolutionary army you lead are ordinary people. These people have no actual
combat experience, and they lack strict training.
In addition, a small part of the
revolutionary army has combat experience, but these people do not have a clear
organization.
If you bring these people to fight against
the regular army of the Qin Kingdom, it's like putting your head in a tiger's
mouth.
I think the most important thing you should
do now is to first occupy a city where you can stay for a long time. I think
this city is a nearby (Chenliu) city.
Why do I think we want to occupy this city?
This is based on the following three reasons.
The first reason. The city's geographical
location is very good and the transportation is very convenient.
The second reason. Then this city has
abundant food storage, which can provide us with sufficient supplies.
The third reason. I know the mayor of
(Chenliu) City, and I am sure I can persuade him to surrender and join your
team.
After Liu Bang listened to this suggestion,
he said happily to (Li Yiji).
Your suggestion is great, let's go for it.
This idiom means that the traffic in a
place extends in all directions.

另外有少部分的革命軍是有戰鬥經驗，但是這些人並沒有明確的編制。
你帶著這些人要對抗秦王國的正規軍隊，那就好像把自已的頭放在老虎的嘴巴中一樣啊。
我認為你現在該做的最重要的是，就是要先佔據一個可以長久駐紮的城市，這座城市我認為是附近的(陳留)城。
為何我認為我們要佔領這座城市呢?這是基於下面三個理由。
第一個原因。這座城市的地理位置非常好，交通非常方便。
第二個原因。則這座城市裡面有著豐富的糧食儲存，這些糧食可以提供我們充分的補給。
第三個原因。我認識(陳留)城的市長，我有把握可以說服他讓他主動投降並加入你的團隊。
劉邦聽了這個建議之後，他很開心的對(酈食其)說。
你的建議太好了，我們就這樣去做吧。
這句成語的意思是形容一個地方的交通四通八達。
