He did not emphasise to the public that the reconciliation between the two men was his own achievement. On the contrary, he asked the two men to conceal the fact that he had intervened in the mediation.

 

He maintained a respectful demeanour and assiduously helped many to mediate disputes without taking credit.

他的外甥去參加一場宴會,在宴會中,他的外甥由於一直勉強別人喝酒,因此與別人發生衝突,所以他的外甥在爭吵中被殺死了。

 

他的姊姊對他說。

你應該為你的外甥報仇。

 

他回答。

我不會為你的兒子報仇,這件事情我已經仔細的調查過了。

因為你的兒子一直勉強別人喝酒,你的兒子不尊重別人而且脅迫別人一定要喝酒,所以你的兒子才會被殺。

發生這件事情我感到非常的傷心,但我認為會發生這件悲劇,你的兒子要負最大的責任。

 

他住的城市中,有一個年輕人對他的態度非常不禮貌。

他身邊的朋友對他說。

你是我們大家所尊敬的人而這個年輕人竟然輕視你,我們揍他。

 

他阻止了這些朋友。他對他的朋友說。

你們不應該想揍他。

因為在他的眼中,我的道德修養不夠高,所以他才不尊敬我。

我應該檢討自已。

 

洛陽城中有兩個人因為誤會所以彼此敵對,經過他的調解後這兩個人和解了。

 

他沒有對外強調這兩個人的和解是自己的功勞,相反的,他要求這兩個人隱瞞他曾經介入調停。

 

他保持著恭敬的態度,他熱心地去協助許多人調停糾紛而且不居功。
