by a wild goose(燕雀安知鴻鵠之志)
In 209 BC, a man named (Chen Sheng) led a
group of people to rebel against the rule of the Qin Dynasty.
History books tell a story about him.
When he was young, he worked as a hired
labourer for a while.
Together with some other young people, he
was responsible for helping to plough the fields.
He ate, slept and worked with these young
people every day and became very good friends with them.
His life is very hard, but he is full of
expectations for his future and has not lost his dreams.
One day at noon, he and other young people
were sitting in the field resting.
He saw a flock of wild geese flying in the
sky.
He felt something in his heart and told his
friends.
If one day I can succeed, if I can achieve
a great thing, I will never forget you, my good friends.
If I succeed in the future, you can come to
me if you are in trouble, and I will do my best to help you.
After hearing these words from him, his
friends responded with a big laugh.
We are all civilians, and our status is the
lowest level of hired workers in society.
We don't believe that any of us has a
chance to rise above the status quo, and I don't believe that any of us has a
chance to do great things.
After listening to his friend's answer.
He looked at his friends.
He was silent for a few minutes.
A few minutes later he spoke to his
friends.
A sparrow cannot understand the world a
goose sees.
This idiom is used to describe the
inability of an ordinary person to understand the ideals of the ambitious.

我們不認為我們這些人有機會可以脫離現狀，我不認為我們中的任何人有機會可以成就偉大的事業。
他聽到他的朋友的回答後。
他看著他的朋友們。
他沉默了幾分鐘。
幾分鐘後他對這些朋友們說。
一隻麻雀並無法理解一隻大雁所看到的世界。
這句成語被用來形容一個平凡的人無法理解志向遠大者的理想。
