minister called Tao Gu.
History books tell a story about him.
He dabbled in many kinds of knowledge and
was also an expert in astrology.
He lived from 903-970 AD.
China was very turbulent for more than 50
years from 907 to 960 AD.
Many kingdoms rose quickly and many
kingdoms died quickly.
This period was followed by the long and
stable Song Dynasty from 960 AD to 1279 AD.
In 947 AD, the king of the Khitan kingdom
in northern China led an army to invade the capital of the Later Jin kingdom,
and the Later Jin kingdom fell.
One day he said to his friends
Recently I was observing astrology at night
and I saw a very special scene.
Venus, Jupiter, Mercury, Mars and Saturn
recently appeared in the south-western sky at the same time.
This is an auspicious sign, so I judge that
a new kingdom will be established in the southwest of China.
He spoke to his friend again a few days
later.
Last night I saw another special
astrological phenomenon, a comet heading towards the capital of the Khitan
kingdom.
This is a bad omen. I believe the King of
the Khitan Kingdom will die, and after his death his sons will cause long and
continuous civil strife as they fight for the throne.

longer cause great harm to China.

Kingdom died suddenly at the age of 45.
