During the Warring States period in China,
there were seven main kingdoms in China.
These seven kingdoms sometimes competed
with each other and sometimes cooperated with each other.
The territory of the Qin Kingdom is the
westernmost of the seven kingdoms. This area was relatively backward at the
time.
It was a very chaotic time. Many
intellectuals left their hometowns and went to the capitals of various kingdoms
to find opportunities to realise their political ideals.
The king of the Qin Kingdom attached great
importance to these intellectuals from other kingdoms, and the king of the Qin
Kingdom arranged for these intellectuals to hold important positions in the
central government of the Qin Kingdom.
The Qin Kingdom became increasingly
powerful.
237 BC. Within the government of the Qin
Kingdom, many nobles and ministers of the Qin Dynasty spoke to the king of the
Qin Kingdom.
Over the years, our central government has
included intellectuals from many other kingdoms.
We believe that some of these intellectuals
have come to our kingdom with malicious intent.
These people want to overthrow our kingdom,
and many of these people are spies gathering information.
So we think we should change the basic
strategy of our kingdom.
We should refuse to allow the people from
those other kingdoms to enter the Qin Kingdom, and we should expel all of them
from the Qin Kingdom.
The King of Qin agreed with this idea, so
the King of Qin issued a new decree.
All the people who are not from the Qin
Kingdom must leave the Qin Kingdom within the time limit.
This decree has become the current idiom,
This idiom is used to describe a host who
asks a guest he does not like to leave immediately.

中國的戰國時代，中國境內主要有七個主要的王國。
這七個王國之間有時候彼此競爭、有時候彼此合作。
秦王國的國土位置在七個王國中的最西邊。這個地區在當時是屬於一個比較落後的地區。
那是一個非常混亂的時代，有很多知識份子離開自己的家鄉，到各個王國的首都去尋找可以實現自己的政治理想的機會。
秦王國的國王非常的重視這些其他王國的知識份子，秦王國的國王安排這些知識分子在秦王國的中央政府內擔任重要的職務。
秦王國變得愈來愈強盛。
西元前237年。秦王國的政府內部，有很多秦王朝的貴族與大臣對秦王國的國王說。
這幾年來，我們的中央政府中加入了很多其他其他王國的知識分子。
我們認為這些知識分子中有一些是懷抱著惡意來到我們王國。
這些人想要顛覆我們的王國，這些人中有很多是情報蒐集的間諜。
因此我們認為我們應該要調整我們王國的基本戰略。
我們應該拒絕這些其他王國的人民來秦王國，我們應該把這些人全部驅逐離開秦王國。
秦王國的國王認同這個想法，因此秦王國的國王就頒布了一條新的法令。
所有的非秦王國的人民，必須在期限內離開秦王國。
這一條法令就成了今天這句成語，
這句成語被用來形容一位主人要求那一位他所不喜歡的客人立刻離開這個地方。
