He was a famous general in the last years
of the Eastern Han Dynasty in China. His son founded the Soochow Kingdom.
History books tell a story about him.
He had led the army to many great
victories, but he personally fell into a great crisis in two battles.
In 184 AD, he led an army against a
rebellion against the Han dynasty.
The army he led gained the advantage in the
battle between the two sides, and he immediately led the vanguard in pursuit of
the enemy.
In the course of his attack, he was met
with a sudden counterattack by the enemy, and after a fierce battle, he was
wounded many times, fell off the horse he was riding, and hid in a pile of
weeds.
His horse ran back to his army, having lost
its owner.
His horse kept whinnying in the army, and
his subordinates led his horse back to the battlefield and found him hiding in
the weeds.
After returning to the barracks, he rested
for a few days.
As soon as his injury had slightly
improved, he went back into battle.
In 191 AD, he was on a campaign against a
warlord occupying the capital, and his army was surrounded by the enemy, who
were outnumbered.
Apart from breaking through the enemy's
encirclement with a dozen cavalrymen, all the other soldiers in his army were
wiped out by the enemy,
As he fled for his life, he gave his usual red
turban to another trusted soldier.
His pursuers chased the red turban soldier
with all their might.
So he escaped the enemy's pursuit.
In 192 AD, he led an army to attack a
warlord named (Liu Biao). In this battle, he and his troops achieved absolute combat
superiority.
His habit of standing at the front of the
battlefield has not changed, and he leads the vanguard to charge the enemy's
camp.
This time, however, he was unsuccessful. In
a bamboo forest, he was killed by an enemy's bow and arrow. He was only 37 when
he died.
Dear friend, what kind of inspiration or
thought do you have after hearing this story?
Do you think his death in battle was
accidental or inevitable? Do you have any habits you can't break?
I hope this story can give you a new
harvest.
