There was a famous prime minister in the
Kingdom of Wei during the Warring States Period in China, and his name was
(Tian Zifang).
There is a story about him recorded in the
history books.
One day he was walking on the street in the
capital. The Prince of the Kingdom of Wei was sitting in a carriage and saw him
walking alone on the road. The Prince of Wei was very polite, so he immediately
got out of the carriage and greeted him.
He nodded to show that he accepted the
Prince's greeting.
He did not respond to the prince's greeting
according to the etiquette of the time.
The prince was very angry and said to him.
Only a person with a lot of money and
status can have a very proud attitude, right?
Can a very poor and ordinary person also
have a very proud attitude?
He looked at the prince with a smile and
replied.
I think only a very poor and ordinary
person can have a very proud attitude.
A person who is rich and has great status
must not have a proud attitude.
The prince looked at him in confusion.

If the king of a kingdom has a proud
attitude, he will lose his kingdom.
A king who loses his kingdom becomes an
ordinary and poor man.
If a nobleman of a kingdom has a proud
attitude, then the nobleman will lose his land.
A noble who loses his land will become an
ordinary and poor person.
If an ordinary and poor person has a proud
attitude, what does he have to lose?
If a poor and ordinary person criticises a
rich and noble person, the rich and noble person will not accept the ordinary
and poor person's opinion.

clever. The prince knew that he had no respect for Tian Zifang in his heart.
The prince knew that Tian Zifang could see his inner arrogance.
Tian Zifang took the opportunity to remind

The Prince of the Wei Kingdom greeted him
again with sincerity. He also replied to the Prince of Wei Kingdom according to
the etiquette.

歷史書上記載了一個他的故事。
有一天，他在首都的路上行走，魏王國的太子坐在馬車上看到他一個人在路上走，魏王國的太子很有禮貌，魏王國的太子就立刻下了馬車向他問安。
他點點頭表示他接受了太子的問安。
他沒有按照當時的禮節回應太子的問安。
太子很生氣就對他說。
一個很有錢有很地位的人才可以態度很驕傲吧?

一個失去土地的貴族，就會變成一個平凡又貧窮了人。
一個平凡又貧窮的人如果態度很驕傲，那麼這個人會有什麼可以失去的呢?
如果一個貧窮又平凡的人對一個很有錢又有地位的人提出他的諍言，這個有錢又有地位的人不肯接受這個平凡又貧窮的人的意見。

魏王國的太子很聰明，太子知道自己並沒有從內心尊敬田子方，太子知道自己內心的自大被田子方看出來了。
田子方藉這個機會提醒太子應該真誠地用謙卑的態度去對待任何一個人。
