The person will habitually shrug and hunch(高肩弱脊)

In China's Spring and Autumn Period, there was a famous physiognomist. He is good at predicting a person's personality and life by observing their body shape and appearance. His name is (Gubu Ziqing).

There is a story about him in an ancient Chinese book.

He had no fixed residence, but he had many disciples. He and his disciples travelled around different kingdoms in China at that time.

He lived in the same era as Confucius, China's most famous educator.

One day, when he and his students arrived in the Kingdom of Wei, he suddenly saw a group of people walking towards him in front of him.

he said to his students.

Among the group of people in front, the leader who is walking in front has a very special appearance. Please be quiet. I want to observe this leader carefully.

After the two groups of people had passed each other on the road, he stopped with his disciples. He turned around and looked carefully at the leader's back.

He suddenly stopped a man walking at the back of another group of people. He said to the man.

I would like to ask you, who is the person who is leading you? Why are you following him?

Replied the man.

The man's name is Confucius, he is from the Kingdom of Lu, and we follow him because we are his students.

After listening to the man's answer, he said to the man.

It turns out that he is Confucius of the Kingdom of Lu. I have heard of his name. He was a very intelligent and moral scholar. He had many students.

The man nodded and asked him.

So who are you? Why do you ask me these questions?

He said with a smile.

I am a physiognomist, because I saw that your teacher has a very special appearance, so I am very interested in his true identity.

The man also asked him with a smile.

Based on your professional judgement, do you think my teacher has a good appearance?

He said to the man.

I have observed that your teacher's forehead, eyes, neck and mouth resemble four famous and capable leaders in ancient China.

I have never seen such a special appearance, and I believe he will achieve great things.

There was a sudden pause, and he added to the man.

But I think it's a pity. I was just looking at your teacher's back. He is a little stooped and he shrugs habitually.

His figure is not as good as those of the ancient sages, so his achievements cannot be the same as those of the ancient sages, so I feel very sorry for him.

This idiom means that the person will habitually shrug his shoulders and hunch his back.

It is used to describe a person's bad posture.

Dear friend, how do you feel or what do you think after listening to this story?

Would you be very concerned about one of your physical flaws? Would you ignore your many advantages because of one of your faults?

I hope this story can give you some new insights.

(The person will habitually shrug and hunch)
