He was the king who founded the Kingdom of
Shu in ancient China. His story is recorded in history books.
The geographical location of the Kingdom of
Shu corresponds to the present province of Sichuan in China.
Sichuan Province is a basin area, and the
land in Sichuan Province is very fertile.
He led the people of the Shu Kingdom from
the age of fishing and hunting to the age of agriculture.
He was loved and supported by the people of
the Shu Kingdom.
When he was about 100 years old, the Shu
Kingdom suffered a great flood.
He was getting very old and didn't know how
to fix it.
He appointed a very clever young man to
control the flood. This young man was called (Bieling).
After investigating on the spot and
thinking hard, Bieling formulated a strategy to control the flood.
He led the people to dig a canal along a
large canyon in Wushan.
Once completed, the canal effectively
diverted water from the basin's terrain and out of the basin.
Du Yu saw that this young man had
effectively solved the flood problem. He thought that this clever young man had
great leadership qualities.
Du Yu announced his retirement and asked
(Bieling) to succeed him as king of the Shu Kingdom.
A few years later, Du Yu passed away.
According to the legend of the people of
Shu Kingdom. After Du Yu died, his soul stayed in the Shu Kingdom.
Because his soul still cared about the
lives of all the people of Shu Kingdom, his soul turned into a cuckoo.
These cuckoos appear every year in March of
the lunar calendar. When the people of the Shu Kingdom heard the cuckoos, it
was as if they heard (Du Yu), who was very worried about the people, speaking
to the people of the Shu Kingdom.

他帶領人民順著巫山的一個很大的峽谷開鑿出一條運河。
這條運河在建成後有效的把盆地地形內的水引流出盆地外。
杜宇看到這個年輕人有效的解決的洪水的問題，他認為這個聰明的年輕人有很棒的領導力。
杜宇就宣布退休，並且讓(別靈)繼任成為蜀王國的國王。
幾年後，杜宇死了。
根據蜀王國的人民的傳說。杜宇死後，他的靈魂仍來留在蜀王國。
因為他的靈魂仍然很關懷所有的蜀王國的人民的生活，所以他的靈魂變成了布穀鳥。
這些布穀鳥在每年的農曆的三月就會出現，蜀王國的人民聽到布穀鳥的啼叫聲，就好像聽到非常關心百姓的(杜宇)正在對蜀王國人民說。
