There was a famous poet during the Tang Dynasty
in China, his name was (Bai Juyi).
He left behind more than 3,000 poems, the
most among all the poets of the Tang Dynasty.
At the age of 35, he joined the central
government as a mid-level official.
He was an upright man and often made many
suggestions to the king.
He also offended some in the establishment.
In 815 AD he was demoted and transferred to
what is now Jiangxi Province in China.
One day in 816 AD he wrote a narrative poem
of 612 words.
This poem became one of his most famous
works.
In this poem he describes an adventure he
had with a middle-aged pipa player.
In the poem, he describes the pipa playing
he heard.
The pipa player was sitting in front of us.
She stretched out her hand to tighten the pegs and plucked the strings a few
times.
I didn't even have to listen to the whole
song. From those few simple notes, I could feel the strong emotions in this
performer's heart.
After the performance started, I felt a
strong sadness and desolation from the sound of the pipa she was playing. She seemed
to be using the instrument to tell the memories she had encountered in her life
that made her feel hurt and sad.
She lowered her head and quickly plucked
the strings with both hands, and I seemed to be able to catch a glimpse of the
past hidden deep in her heart through the sound of the pipa.
Her pipa playing skills are very good, and
she can use various difficult techniques very skilfully.
She played two pieces of music in
succession. When I listened to the first piece, I felt like I was in a violent
storm, which made me feel a strong impact.
When I listened to the second piece, I
thought I heard the person closest to me speaking softly to me in my ear.
The sound of the pipa is louder and softer,
and the rhythm is faster and slower.
These crisp sounds are as crisp and sweet
as pearls of all sizes falling on a jade slab.

中國的唐王朝時代有一個著名的詩人，他的名字是(白居易)。
他留下了3000多首詩，是所有唐代詩人中最多的一個人。
他在35歲的時候進入中央政府擔任一個中階官員。
他是一個正直的人，他經常向國王提出許多建議。
他也得罪了一些當權派。
西元815年他降職並被調派到現在中國的江西省。
西元816年的一天，他寫了一首敘事詩，這首詩共有612個字。
這首詩成為他的代表作品之一。
這首詩中，他描寫了一段他與一個中年的女性琵琶演奏家的奇遇。

我在聽第二首曲子的時候，我彷彿聽到了我最親近的人正在我的耳朵邊輕輕地對我說話。
琵琶的聲音一下大，一下小，節奏一下快，一下慢。
這些清脆的聲音，就好像一個玉做的盤子上，落下了大大小小的珍珠一樣的清脆動聽。
我聽著她所彈奏的琵琶的聲音，我感覺我自己就像是一隻正在花叢中穿梭著飛來飛去的小鳥一樣。我感覺我自己就像是一條冬天的河流，水面已經結冰而水流在冰塊底下流動發出如同在哭泣一樣的嗚咽的聲音。
這場演奏應該已經快要結束了，她彈奏的音調變得愈來愈慢。
琵琶的聲音就如同開始慢慢結成冰的水一樣，聲音慢慢地凍結在我們所在的這個空間裡面。
