In the Eastern Jin Dynasty of China, there
was a very knowledgeable and witty official named (Hao Long).
There is a story about him recorded in the
history books.
There has been a custom in China since the
Han Dynasty. Every year, on the seventh day of the seventh lunar month, every
household would take their clothes or books to the courtyard in front of their
house to be exposed to the sun.
The purpose of this behaviour is to prevent
these clothes or books from getting damp, and also to prevent these books or
clothes from being bitten by moths.
One year it was the 7th of July. People in
the capital took their clothes and books to their courtyards early in the
morning to expose them to the sun.
At eleven o'clock that day, Hao Long went
out of his door.
He moved a bench and placed it in his
courtyard. Then he took off his clothes and lay down on the bench, shirtless.
His strange behaviour aroused the curiosity
of his neighbours. About half an hour later, one of the neighbours came to see
him. He was lying on the bench with his eyes closed.
His neighbour tapped him on the shoulder.
The neighbour asked him.
Why are you lying shirtless in your yard in
such hot weather?
He opened his eyes, sat up, touched his
stomach and answered his neighbour with a smile.

歷史書上記載了一個他的故事。
中國從漢王朝的時候開始有一個習俗，在每年的農曆的七月七號，家家戶戶都會把自已家裡的衣服或是書籍搬到自己的屋外的院子中曝曬。
這件行為的用意是要用來防止這些衣服或是書籍受潮，也可以預防這些書籍或衣服被蛀蟲的啃咬。
有一年的七月七號。首都內的民眾們，一大早就把家中的衣服與書籍搬到自己的院子中曝曬。
那一天的中午十一點，郝隆走出他的家門口。
他搬了一張長凳，他把這把長凳放在他家的院子中，接著他脫下自己的衣服，他打赤膊躺在這張長凳上。
他這件怪異的舉動引起了他的鄰居們的好奇，大概半個小時後，有一個鄰居來到他的身旁，他躺在長凳上並且閉上雙眼。
他的鄰居拍了拍他的肩膀。
他的鄰居問他。
