China's Jin Dynasty, his name was Xie An.
He is known as the most perfect man in
Chinese history.

history books.
He came from a famous family, and many
members of his family were famous officials at that time.
The king of the Eastern Jin Dynasty invited
him many times to serve as an official in the central government. After
refusing several times, one day he said to the king
My health is not good and I cannot bear too
much pressure. I must go to the countryside to rest my body.
He took his wife and son and moved to a
mountain about 350 kilometres from the capital.
The name of this mountain is (东山).
A few years after they moved to this place,
one day his wife said to him
Your brothers are all important officials
in the capital. They are all rich and famous. Don't you want to be rich and
famous like them? Do you want to spend the rest of your life in this desolate
place?
he smiled at his wife.
If I had to choose, I really do want to
live in this place for the rest of my life. But I fear that my dream may not
come true.
A year or two later, his younger brother
failed in an important battle, and the family's reputation suffered greatly.
For the sake of his family's honour, he
decided to leave Dongshan and return to the capital to serve as a central
government official.
He was in his 40s that year.
At a banquet to welcome him, one of his
good friends said to him
You lived in seclusion in Dongshan. Many
people think that you have not contributed your talents to this society. Many
people think that you have let this society down.
After you left Dongshan today, I think you
sacrificed the life you loved for this society. I now feel that this society
has failed you.
He smiled slightly after hearing this.
