Enemies meet on a narrow road

There are four famous novels in Chinese history, one of which is called (Journey to the West).

The author of this novel is called (Wu Chengen).

During the Tang Dynasty in China, there was a famous monk called Xuanzang.

Xuanzang once went to India to study Buddhism and brought back many Buddhist classics to China.

Wu Cheng'en created this fictional novel based on Xuanzang, a real historical figure.

In this novel, Xuanzang travels to India with his three disciples.

This novel describes the difficulties the four of them encountered on their way to India and how they overcame these difficulties and successfully arrived in India.

There is a story in Chapter 45 of this novel.

Xuanzang and his three disciples were passing through a kingdom.

His disciples discovered that there were three monsters in the kingdom who pretended to be human.

Xuanzang's disciples played tricks on the three monsters. The three monsters were fooled and drank the urine of Xuanzang's disciples. The three monsters were very angry when they found out the truth.

The next day this happened.

Xuanzang and his three disciples went to the palace of this kingdom to meet the king of this kingdom.

Suddenly, they saw those three monsters sitting in the palace.

The three monsters looked surprised when they saw Xuanzang and his three disciples.

The three monsters laughed and said to Xuanzang's disciples

There is a saying that the less you want to meet someone, the easier it is for you to meet that person.

I think this saying is applicable to today's situation.

Yesterday you tricked me into drinking your urine and ran away, but you must not have expected to meet us three monsters in the palace.

You must not have thought that the king of this kingdom is our believer. We will ask the king to arrest you and execute you immediately.

This idiom means that the less you want to meet a person, the easier it is for you to meet that person.

This idiom means that the road between enemies is narrow.

(Enemies meet on a narrow road)
