No trace or message at all(杳無影響)

No trace or message at all(杳無影響)

There was a famous novelist and playwright in China's Ming Dynasty, his name was (Feng Menglong).

He wrote a collection of short stories.

One of the stories is a fictional story he created with a very famous person from the Ming Dynasty as the protagonist.

This famous person is called Tang Yin. When he was growing up, all his friends called him (Tang Bohu).

He wanted to get close to a maid called Qiuxiang in the family of a minister called Hua in the central government, so he pretended to be unemployed and widowed.

He went to work in the house of the minister named Hua.

A few months later he married (Qiuxiang) as he wished.

A few days after they were married, Qiuxiang discovered his true identity, and he told Qiuxiang.

Let's go back to Suzhou together, okay? I want to take you home with me.

Qiuxiang replied after listening to Tang Yin's words.

I think you really love me and I am willing to go back to Suzhou and live with you.

The next morning, Tang Yin sorted out the accounts of a shop he was in charge of that belonged to Minister Hua. He also sorted out the accounts of the gifts given to him by all the people who worked in the Hua residence when he got married. He also made a list of all the things he used while working in Huazhai.

He put the three lists on the table in his room and then wrote a poem in his room.

The next night, Tang Yin and Qiuxiang did not take anything from Minister Hua's house. They took advantage of everyone to fall asleep and left quietly.

The next morning after they left, when Minister Hua heard the news that Tang Yin and Qiuxiang had suddenly left his house, he immediately rushed to the room where Tang Yin and Qiuxiang were staying. The Minister surnamed Hua felt very confused.

When he saw the three lists, he knew that Tang Yin had not taken anything from his house. He saw the poem written by Tang Yin, and he knew that the poem contained Tang Yin's true purpose for coming to his house, but he could not decipher the secret hidden in the poem.

He wanted to know the truth, and he knew that the only way to find the answer was to find Tang Yin and Qiuxiang.

He ordered his servants to post notices in Wuxi City. He offered large rewards for finding Tang Yin and Qiuxiang. But after a year, there was no trace or message of them.

A year later, the matter was gradually forgotten by the minister named Hua.

The literal translation of this idiom is that there is no trace or message at all.

Dear friend, what inspirations or thoughts do you have after listening to this story?

Have you ever experienced a friend suddenly leaving for no apparent reason? Are you good at interpreting the true meaning hidden in what others say?

I hope this story can give you some new insights.

(No trace or message at all)
