he moved into the house of a widow surnamed Wang after arriving in Chang'an
City.
Later, through the introduction of the
widow named Wang, he met a general named Chang He.
He was hired as Chang He's staff and wrote
a plan for Chang He on how to deal with the drought.
After reading the plan, the king said to
Chang He
Your plan is very good. From what I know
about you, I think you definitely did not write this plan yourself.
Please tell me honestly who wrote it.
Chang He didn't dare to hide it from the
king, so he told the king.
This plan was written by one of my advisers
called (Ma Zhou).
The king told Chang He to bring Ma Zhou to
the palace to see me immediately.
After Chang He brought Ma Zhou to the
palace as quickly as possible, the king had a long talk with Ma Zhou.

and I am honoured to be your working partner in the central government.
From that day on, Ma Zhou's destiny began
to change. He went from being a poor and unsuccessful intellectual to an
important official who helped the king to govern the Tang Dynasty.
Ma Zhou later married the widow surnamed
Wang, who opened a steamed bun shop.
After the two got married, the widow

utilise his talents in the central government.

(All his belongings)
