After Zhao Pu became Prime Minister, he knew that if the Song Dynasty wanted to be strong, it would need a lot of talent. So Zhao Pu often recommended to the founding king of the Song Dynasty people he thought were talented to serve as officials in the central government.

Once he recommended a person to the king to serve as an official in the central government. After the king saw the official document he had written, the king thought that this person was not suitable, so the king did not let this person enter the central government.

After the king rejected his recommendation, Zhao Pu did not change his mind.

Zhao Pu recommended this person to the king several times in a row.

A few days later, the king angrily told him

Please stop recommending this person to me, I find your behaviour annoying. I don't like the person you recommended, so I reject your recommendation.

When he heard the king's reply, he spoke to the king in a very calm voice.

The reason I am recommending this person to the central government is not because I like this person.

The reason I continue to recommend this person is because this person is a truly talented person.

I think you should not use your own personal subjective consciousness to veto this person's entry into the central government.

If you want to improve the Song Dynasty, you should put aside your emotional view of this person and look at him rationally.

The king was very angry when he heard Zhao Pu's rebuttal, but after calming down, the king said to him

I must admit that you are right. I reconsidered, I should give up my prejudice against this person, and I agreed to let this person work in the central government.

Once the founding king of the Song Dynasty was talking to Zhao Pu, and the king asked Zhao Pu.

What do you think is the greatest and most important thing in this world?

Zhao Pu thought for a moment and then replied.

I think truth is the greatest and most important thing.

The king said to him after listening to his answer.

I agree with you. The truth is eternal. Even if I am a king, I must follow the truth.

We must also follow the truth when we formulate some systems and rules, so that the systems and rules we formulate can be applied for a long time.

Dear friend, how do you feel or what do you think after listening to this story?

What do you think is the most important thing in the world? Would you deny a person's ability because of your prejudice against them?

I hope this story can give you some new insights.
